The use of writing lamp and auxiliary desk lamp is completely different. The use place of auxiliary desk lamp is the bedside ark of the bedroom. It would be easier for users to turn lights on and off by voice while lying in bed, without having to get up. But the use place of writing lamp is when uses reading or writing in front of the desk, users are basically sitting on a desk chair, and desk lamp is very close to the distance, hand touch is the most efficient way to control the lamp. Do the users still need to speak to the lamp to turn on or turn off the lights at such short distance? At that time, I felt that this demand of intelligent manufacturers for intelligent reasons was not a real demand of consumers, but a pseudo demand. So I’ve talked with one of the Zhongshan lamp manufacture about my views carefully, then many manufacturers also think my point is reasonable, so this project has not started for the time being.
In 2019, another lighting manufacturer in Zhongshan found us and said that they had developed the speech recognition control desk lamp, which could use voice to control the turning on and off of the light. However, there were a lot of misrecognition, and they often turned on and off by itself. Although customers thought the voice control desk lamp was very novel, it was not easy to use, so it did not sold well. But the factory had already developed the mold, and there were a number of consumers who liked the speech-recognition control lamp, and they felt a little reluctant not to go ahead with it. While the manufacturer saw our "Elizabeth" intelligent speech control effect is so good, they plan to switch to use our speech recognition technology solution.
After we know the customer needs, we made analysis on the product which the manufacturer made, and found that the speech recognition they used is a Taiwan chip which used in toys. The cost for it is low indeed. But is not suitable to use on the desk lamp or other electronic products unless the toys do not need accurate recognition and useless to consider the misrecognition rate.
For this customers’ case, I began to do a more in-depth investigation and analysis of the users who use writing desk lamps. I found that most of the people who bought writing lamps were parents, not students. However, students' parents mainly consider healthy issues, and they are more willing to choose if there is an effect on the protection of students' eyesight.
